Professional Certification for Canine Water-Leak Detection Teams
The K9 Pipeline Detection Association (K9PDA) is the membership and certification body for canine teams working water infrastructure detection. The organization exists to set training and certification standards for water-leak detection K9 teams, to maintain a public registry of certified teams, to provide continuing education, and to give utilities and water districts a credible, neutral path to verified canine resources. Membership is open to handler/canine teams, training organizations and industry partners, and water utilities and districts that employ or contract certified teams.

WHY IT
MATTERS
Water utilities across the country are facing aging infrastructure, limited funding, and increasing pressure to reduce water loss. As systems become more complex, the need for consistent, reliable, and defensible detection methods continues to grow.
K9PDA supports the development of standards and evaluation methods that help improve decision-making, field efficiency, and confidence in results.
